Speaker Bio:

Dr. Varsha Kumar is a chiropractic radiologist who completed her chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) and her radiology residency at the Southern California University of Health Sciences. She is currently the Chair of Diagnostic Imaging in the Undergraduate Studies Division and the Program Coordinator of Diagnostic Imaging Residency in Graduate Studies at CMCC. In addition to training chiropractic students in radiology, Dr. Kumar also acts as a resource clinical radiologist, interacting and discussing cases with interns and clinicians on patients’ diagnostic images.

Session Description

This 5-hour session will present various clinical imaging cases of the cervical and lumber spine as presented to the practicing chiropractor. This session will also identify incidental significant and nonsignificant findings related to the thorax and abdomen as found on spinal imaging, with a special focus on radiographs. 

Session Objectives

  1. Demonstrate imaging cases of the cervical and lumbar spine presenting to a chiropractic practice.
  2. Review conditions and clinical implications of spinal diagnoses.
  3. Identify normal vs. abnormal calcifications and abdominal air patterns on spinal imaging.
  4. Develop reasonable differentials for soft tissue pathologies.
