Course Description
The Body Secrets Introduction to Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) course provides massage therapists and healthcare professionals with a foundational understanding of the lymphatic system and introductory Manual Lymphatic Drainage techniques.
Students will explore lymphatic anatomy and physiology, lymphatic pathways, indications and contraindications, fluid dynamics, edema formation, and the role of Manual Lymphatic Drainage in wellness and recovery. Participants will learn and practice basic lymphatic techniques for full body while gaining an understanding of proper pressure, rhythm, and treatment planning.
This introductory course serves as the foundation for advanced lymphatic education and is ideal for therapists interested in wellness-based lymphatic work, post-surgical recovery, edema management, and overall lymphatic health.
This course does not certify participants as lymphedema therapists.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Describe the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system.
- Explain the functions of lymphatic vessels, lymph nodes, and lymphatic organs.
- Discuss the role of the lymphatic system in fluid balance and immune function.
- Identify common indications and contraindications for Manual Lymphatic Drainage.

- Demonstrate proper body mechanics for MLD.
- Perform introductory MLD techniques for the neck and face.
